Commissions
Pittsburgh Mennonite Church’s Commissions and Pastoral Team
Pittsburgh Mennonite Church operates through five commissions and one team. These commissions and team keep PMC running as well as a driving force for us as a community to grow in Christ. The church year is from July to June. The 2010-2011 Congregational Chair of Pittsburgh Mennonite is Jim Kauffman. Dianne Miller is Chair-Elect, Elizabeth Miller is Secretary and Sushil Ganguly is Treasurer.
Education Commission: Karen Howard, Chairperson
The Education Commission is responsible for Sunday School activities from nursery to adults. They oversee youth group activities, plan for our annual church retreat, and deal with all matters relating to the educational growth of the community.
Hospitality Commission: Alma Kauffman, Chairperson
The Hospitality Commission is responsible for monthly potlucks, recreational activities, special events, and in nurturing community life.
Mission and Service Commission: Randy Kolb, Chairperson
The Mission & Service Commission is dedicated in upholding the Gospel through support and participation of the Mennonite Central Committee, Mennonite Mission Network and the Mennonite Disaster Service. As members of the Pittsburgh community we support local programs such as the East End Cooperative Ministry and the Merton Center.
Stewardship and Administration Commission: Bernie Good, Chairperson
The Stewardship Commission is responsible for maintaining the church grounds, facility, and the church finances. They also promote mutual aid and growth in generosity within the congregation.
Worship Commission: Marilyn Bender, Chairperson
The Worship Commission is responsible for all aspects of Sunday morning worship. Worship Commission helps us discover ways to express our love, thanks and concerns to God through worship leading, greeting and ushering, music leading, nursery care, communion, and special services.
Pastoral Team John Bender, Chairperson
Pastoral Team provides spiritual oversight to the congregation and helps keeps the congregational vision before the congregation. We also provide pastoral care in the congregation and we respond to the spiritual, physical and material needs of the broader community.
